Book Summary

Bharat at 75 presents a multidimensional exploration of India’s journey as a nation during its 75th year of Independence. The book reflects on the changing face of Bharat and examines the emerging opportunities, challenges, innovations, and transformations shaping the country as it moves towards a progressive, self-reliant, and technologically advanced future.

The 75th year of Independence provides an important opportunity to look beyond India’s achievements and understand the developments that are influencing its future. Against this backdrop, the book explores several dimensions of nation-building, including education, banking, technology, economics, business, society, politics, culture, ecology, and scientific development. It seeks to provide readers with a comprehensive understanding of the changes taking place in contemporary India and their implications for the country's future.

A significant focus of the book is the transformation of India through technology and innovation. The emergence of Digital India has changed the way people access education, banking, communication, business services, and information. These developments became particularly significant during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, which accelerated the adoption of digital technologies across different sectors. The book examines how technological and scientific advancements have contributed to India's ability to adapt to new circumstances and continue its development journey.

The book also examines the education system and banking sector, both of which have experienced substantial transformation in recent years. The changing educational environment, the increasing role of technology in learning, and the expansion of digital banking are considered in the context of a rapidly changing society. Alongside these developments, the relationship between government and business is explored, highlighting the importance of cooperation and policy support in strengthening economic development and encouraging entrepreneurship.

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is another important theme addressed in the book. The pandemic affected not only economic activities and employment but also social relationships, cultural practices, education, businesses, and everyday life. By examining these effects from different perspectives, the book provides insights into how India responded to an unprecedented global crisis and adapted to a changing social and economic environment.

Comprising 31 chapters, Bharat at 75 brings together diverse perspectives on the country's development journey. The chapters address social, political, economic, cultural, ecological, technological, and educational dimensions, thereby creating a broad academic platform for understanding contemporary Bharat. Rather than examining development through a single discipline, the book encourages readers to appreciate the interconnected nature of these different dimensions.

The book also includes two case studies at the end, providing practical and real-life perspectives on selected issues. These case studies examine the impact of animated programmes on children and help readers develop a better understanding of how theoretical ideas can be connected with everyday experiences.

Written in a simple and accessible language, Bharat at 75 is an attempt to explore the multiple dimensions of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and India's continuing journey towards self-reliance and sustainable progress. It encourages readers to reflect on India's achievements, understand its contemporary challenges, and consider the opportunities that lie ahead.

Overall, the book serves as a valuable resource for students, teachers, researchers, academicians, policymakers, professionals, and general readers interested in understanding India's transformation. It provides a broad and accessible overview of the forces shaping modern Bharat and contributes to the academic discussion surrounding India's journey from the 75th year of Independence towards a more innovative, inclusive, digital, and self-reliant future.
